I love books, if you haven't already figured hat out from the amount of book related posts I have made on this blog by now. I used to visit my local library all the time when I was little to take out all the Jacqueline Wilson books that I hadn't read yet, unfortunately I cannot do that now (thank you tories!). But that does not mean that I have not been to a Library since then.
In my first year at university I constantly found myself in the library. The books on the campus I went to are all related to performances and artsy subjects, so the majority of the time I was looking for sheet music for songs that I contemplated adding to my rep book. People from my class would always see me go there before and after lessons and wonder why I needed to go the the library so much - if you are reading this then, well I guess now you know!
Although I do tend to read fiction books, there were a couple of non-fiction books I took out of the library that were to do with the History of Broadway and how women have been treated in the performance industry over the decades. These books have been fascinating to read; I have found out so much more about how the people I have looked up to all my life were treated in this industry. It was amazing to live next to somewhere which had books that I probably wouldn't have picked for myself had I not lived near it, and I look forward to seeing what books I will be taking out to read in my second year!
What was the last library you visited? Did you take out many books? What did you read? Do let me know, and thank you so much for reading this blog post!
