Favourite Princess - Disney December

One of the worlds most prestigious and exclusive clubs, owned by what is arguably the biggest company in the world. Everyone loves them, some people want to be them, but most of all, so many young people look up to them. I am of course, speaking about the Disney Princesses.

Its already hard enough to consider which one of these women are my favourite princesses without adding other characters into the mix, which is why I am implementing a rule for this post - I am not allowed to pick someone who is not an official Disney Princess. That unfortunately means no Giselle, Narla, or even Elsa. So, out of these fantastic women, there is one of them who has always stood out for me, and it may not be for the reasons that you may think.

Most people think that Mulan does not count as a Disney Princess, and that's because she technically is not a princess. She is not royalty and she does not marry into royalty. However, she does an act of heroism, which is the rule that allows her to join the official Disney Princess lineup.

Mulan was not always my favourite Disney Princess, but at this moment in time, she is my favourite princess. Her motivation is about a man that she loves, but not a man she loves romantically, its her father. And I love that she would rather go to war as she knows her father will die if he goes to war, there is something so heroic about that, especially when the government refused to allow her father to stay with his family.

She is dismissed from the army, but she decides to prove them wrong and climbs to retieve the arrow, and trains until she is strong. All while pretending to be a man.

And even when they discover that she is a woman, she will not stop until she knows her country is safe.

She is often overlooked as not many people realise that she is actually a real Disney Princess, but she is brave, heroic and selfless, and these all add to the reasons why she is my favourite princess.
