30 Questions about Disney - Disney December

With all the posts that I have been making this month, and I haven't even considered doing the Disney Tag as one of the posts for Disney December. It is truly an outrage! So, I felt like it would be appropriate for me to do the Disney Tag on the last day of December to make up for it!

1) Favourite Animal

My favourite animal has to be Winnie the Pooh. He has been so prominent in my childhood, plus I have seen my little sister grow up with Winnie the Pooh and I am now watching my nephews grow up with him. He is the perfect character to help introduce children to the Disney brand! The Winnie the Pooh movies just make me feel so nostalgic; they are so wholesome! Not to mention that one of my favourite Walt Disney World Attractions is The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh!

2) Favourite Character

This is an extremely difficult question to answer, and it consistently changes, but I have to say that at the moment my favourite Disney Character is Tiana! I really love The Princess and the Frog, and Tiana is such an under appreciated character! I also am obsessed with the song "Almost there" at the moment; it has practically been my anthem for applying for the Disney Cultural Exchange Program!

3) Favourite Classic

I have to say Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs! It was the one that started everything for Disney, plus for the time it was absolutely groundbreaking! Without Snow White, animation today could be very different, and we may not even have the classic Disney movies we all know and love today!

4) Favourite Hero

I have to say, this one is probably Milo from Atlantic: The Lost Empire. I think he is such a cinnamon role of a character and he deserves so much better!

5) Favourite Heroine

Mulan is definitley my favourite Heroine, there are no arguments there! She is definitley up there amongst my favourite characters and I am really hoping they don't ruin her story in the upcoming Live Action Movie! She taught me to never hide my true self and to fight for what I believe in!

6) Favorite Kiss

Weird question, but I would probably say Rapunzel and Eugene at the end of Tangled where Rapunzel has just saved him. It was something that we had all been waiting for since she met Eugene!

7) Favorite Love Song

It's a hard one, but I do often find myself going around the house singing I won't say I'm in love from Hercules! Of course, I play the game of let's try singing all of the parts at once and see what happens!

8) Favorite Original Character (Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy etc…)

I absolutely love Minnie Mouse! I think it's the red spotty dress! You can never go wrong with a spotty dress!

9) Favorite Pixar Film

This is a really difficult question, but at the moment I would probably say Inside Out. It is such a great concept and not only is a fantastic movie, but it has helped so many children and young people with explaining their emotions!

10) Favorite Prince

I answered this at the beginning of the month and it hasn't changed! Flynn Rider is still my favourite prince!

11) Favorite Princess

Again, I have answered this previously! My favourite Princess is Mulan!

12) Favorite Quote

“Thanks for the adventure, now go have a new one”

It's such a powerful moment when this happens in the movie! It gives me chills every time!

13) Favorite Sequel

This is probably because it is so fresh in my mind, but I absolutely love Frozen 2! Mainly I'm in love with the score of the movie, there are so many fantastic new songs that I adore!! But if I did this tag before November I would have probably said Return to Neverland - which is the only other Disney Sequel I went to the cinema to see!

14) Favorite Sidekick

Hands down my favourite Sidekick is Pascal from Tangled!

15) Favorite Song

This is such a difficult question to answer, there are so many great Disney songs out there!! I feel like I want to say Almost There from The Princess and the Frog is my favourite at the moment, just since it's been a difficult couple of months and just listening to this song thinking about my Disney CEP application and the possibility of being able to achieve my childhood dream has really helped me get through it all!

16) Favorite Theme Attraction

Splash Mountain is one of my all-time favourite attractions! It was the first Disney Dark Ride that I got to experience!

17) Favorite Theme Park

Magic Kingdom hands down! I've never had a bad day there!

18) Favorite Theme Park Show

Fantasmic! I have never seen a show like it before!! Guarantee there will be tears every time I see this beautiful show!

19) Favorite Villain

As mentioned earlier this month, my favourite villain is Ursula!

20) Favorite Villain Song

It has to be "Friends from the other side" from the Princess and the Frog! It is such a beautiful scene and I absolutely love Dr Facilier as a villain! Although every villain song is a win for me, I don't think there is a bad one out there!

21) Least Favorite Pixar Film

Cars 2, or any movie in the Cars Franchise, I am not really a huge fan!

22) Least Favorite Song

It's a Small World can burn in hell!

23) Movie That Makes You Cry

Up! Especially the opening 5 minuets! Never has anything made me cry in the first five minuets!

24) Movie That Makes You Laugh

Enchanted definitley! It is such an underrated movie and people forget about it, but I would have to say that it is possibly the funniest Disney movie!

25) Overrated Movie

Moana, as much as it pains me to say so! I just expected so much more from it than what we got!

26) Saddest Death

Nobody will ever recover from Mufasa's death in the Lion King.

27) Song that always gets stuck in your head

As much as I hate it, once it is in my head I cannot stop singing its a small world!!

28) The First Movie You Saw

I'm not 100% sure of what the first movie I saw was, but the first movie I remember seeing was Sleeping Beauty!!

29) The Saddest Scene From Your Favorite Movie

I have to say, it is probably the end point of Inside out, after Riley has got of the bus from running away and her parents look for her; when sadness takes over all the core memories. It is such a strong moment, but it really stuck out to me as a sad moment as it is looking at this little girl lose everything important to her and see her grow up! It just makes me think of how I was at that age, and I'm sure many people can relate to this moment!

30) Underrated Movie

Saving Mr Banks for sure!
Well, that about wraps up Disney December! I hope that you enjoyed it and keep an eye out for my next post! Thank you for following my blog throughout 2019 and here's to another busy (but successful) year!

The Life of an "unofficial" Disney Character - Disney Devember

Some people's first job is in a cafe or working in a restaurant, but I was lucky enough to get a job as an "unofficial" Disney Character as my first job! I was hired when I was sixteen and since hove portrayed many characters at parties and events. It has honestly been my favourite job I have had so far (I still technically work there, but just as a seasonal staff member) and I really owe a lot to my manager there, as without this job I am unsure if I would have had a chance at the Disney CEP Application Process.
Playing these characters is one of the best jobs in the world. There is nothing like walking into a room as a child's favourite princess and seeing their face for the first time. Of course, in the mascot costumes you don't really get the same effect, but I was lucky enough to be both a fact character and a mascot character!
It is not the job for you if you are looking for a lot of money. I am lucky if I work once a month with this company and the pay is dependant on what type of event you have been hired to do. But the benefits outway the costs, and I would not change that for any amount of money. I have made friends for life with this company, and it is going to be so hard when I eventually do have to leave.
Many people ask me how I managed to get a job like this, and honestly, it was luck. I just so happened to read every email my college tutors sent me, and one day my Performing Arts tutor sent around an email with the job application and I applied and was interviewed. I know lots of people are having issues getting hired by these type of companies but would absolutely love to work for them, and I am afraid that I don't really have much advice on how to apply for them. I was lucky that when I found the job advertisement, the company was just getting started and was desperate for staff. Imagine that for companies that have been going for a few years it is more difficult to get hired.

My Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique Experience - Disney December

It is every child's dream to be able to dress up like a Disney Princess and have their own fairy godmother, and I got that experience when I visited Walt Disney World in 2008. My mum filmed the entire experience, so I thought it would be a nice video to watch back and react to. As much as I say the shoes were awful and that the tinsel was hideous, it truly was one of the best experiences I have ever had and I am truly grateful for being able to have a make over not only once, but twice.

Here is the video I made, it is posted on my YouTube channel, I would appreciate it if you would give it a like and let me know what you would like to see next! This is the last Disney December Video, so I hope you have enjoyed this new content and let me know if there is anything else you want to see!

What is in my bag? Disney Parks Edition - Disney December

Disney currently have a system in place for guests to travel without bags - the magic band! This is a fantastic system, but if you're anything like me you will still want to take a bag with you into the parks! The bonus with Disney Parks is that small bags are allowed on most attractions! I always take with me a small backpack into theme parks - here's what I make sure I have!

Park Tickets

Generally the park tickets are just carried by one person - usually it's my mum if we're going as a family - but when I've visited the parks alone I make sure my park tickets go in a safe pocket in my bag!

Money / Purse

Unless you are bringing a packed lunch, you are going to need to bring some form of money into the parks with you to buy snacks, drinks and food! Last time I went I bought a cute matching backpack and purse set from Primark and got complimented on so much!! You don't need matching sets, but I would recommend putting your money in a purse rather than leaving it loose in the bag, you'll thank yourself when looking for that extra dollar to pay for your ice-cream! (Sounds like common sense, but I've seen people digging through their bags for money!)

A Bottle of Water

In the Floridian Weather, it is very important that you keep yourself hydrated!! I always put a bottle of water in my bag so if I'm in line for an attracting or somewhere where I can't buy a drink I have a backup option!! You don't even have to carry around water, just some form of drink would be beneficial!!

Sun cream

If you're anything like me, you will know that sunburn is lethal! I burn very easily, so I always have a mini bottle of sun cream to keep in my bag to prevent any unwanted skin problems!!

Phone Charger

There is nothing worse than being away from home and suddenly loosing charge on your phone. For this reason, I always carry around a portable charger. This has saved me in so many situation, and is less hassle than bringing your plug in charger as you do not need to bring an adapter and hunt around for plugs!! But of course, that is the best alternative if you do not have a portable charger!

Camera (and spare batteries / film)

I used my phone mainly for digital photos, but I also brought along a Polaroid camera which was a fun extra to have!! I have fallen in love with instant photography, and with the Polaroids I took I made a really cute scrapbook for my holiday this year! Also, remember to bring along spare batteries incase your camera runs our of charge, and also extra film in the case of bringing a Polaroid camera along!!!

That is what I bring along to the Disney Parks whenever I visit, and this stuff all fits into a small backpack; I have never had any issues bringing my bag into the rides in Walt Disney World so you should be set! Incase you are wondering what size backpack I usually bring, they are no bigger than the Loungefly backpacks available at the parks!! Thank you for reading today's post and do check back for the final posts for Disney December!

First Packing List (Disney Cultural Exchange Program) - Disney December

So, you may or may not be aware at this point that I have been accepted to go on the Disney Cultural Exchange Program for the 2020 Summer Season and I am very excited. You may be thinking that it is a little soon to be thinking about what I need to pack, but I will be living in Orlando for three months, which is way longer than the standard two week holiday. Not to mention I planned what I needed to take with me to university three whole years before I moved away! I like to have a plan and to know what I am doing. So I have read up on a couple of blogs and watched a few videos and have compiled a list of what I may need to take with me and what I may need to buy while I am in Orlando. I understand that I am moving away to another country for a couple of months, but I will want to pack light as people do tend to bring back an awful lot of discounted goodies from the Disney Merchandise range. This is just the first draft of my packing list, so it is likely that when it comes around to May it will be a little different. So, without further ado, lets get into it!

I know a couple of people are wanting to bring along two suitcases with them, I am thinking of sticking to one suitcase for main baggage and then taking a small suitcase into the cabin with me as hand-luggage. I am only going to be working there for the summer and most likely will be spending five out of seven days in my work costume, so there will be no need to fill up my suitcase with brand new clothes (does that mean I will stick to this though? Not likely!)

Something I am quite worried about is what I should bring for my room in Disney Housing as I am not sure what is there. I know that when the program finishes, people tend to donate their stuff rather than bring it all back with them, so I am thinking I will buy the stuff in the UK from Primark and then leave in in America, that way I will have more space in my suitcase to bring things back with me! This will include things such as:

  • Towels
  • Pillows
  • Bed sheets and Duvet (although I am on the fence about this one just in case American Beds are a different size to UK beds!)
  • Laundry Basket
  • Clothes Hangers

Next onto cosmetics. I have seen that a lot of people have brought stuff with them from home, and I can understand doing this. Going to the USA, they may not stock the same hair or skincare products, and if there is a particular product that really works for you in the UK that is not available in America you will have to go through a process of trial and error with American products to find one suitable for your hair/skin type. I am thinking I will take a couple of bottles of shampoo, sun cream and skin care products and then if I run out of anything I can just buy more from the shops there. I use products from Lush anyway which pretty much sells the same products for the same price, so I will probably survive doing this. Apparently spray deodorant isn't a thing in America? So I know I will have to stock up on that!

On different websites, I have read that people pack food from home to take with them, and honestly this just screams waste of suitcase space to me! Yes, I can understand when you are missing home, an old family recipe can be just the thing to cheer you up, but it is literally three months of your life, I am sure you can survive for that long without that particular fajita mix! Obviously I will be taking snacks for the flight, but other than that I don't think I will be taking any other food from home with me.

One final thing I have read up on before I actually go full on into my list, I have been advised from different blogs that I need to pack stuff that I know I will wear every week, as there is no point in bringing a whole wardrobe! With shoes, I should probably limit myself to three pairs (work shoes, trainers and sandles) and avoid bring things like boots!

So, onto the list that I have made for myself:

Electricals:

  • Phone
  • Phone Charger
  • Portable Charger
  • Laptop
  • Laptop Charger
  • Nintendo Switch (portable version, not full console)*
  • Nintendo Switch Charger*
  • Polaroid Camera
  • Earphones
Bathroom items:
  • Towels
  • Toiletries (spray, perfume, shampoo, conditioner ect)
  • Toothbrush
  • Toothpaste
  • Retainers
  • Razor
  • Tampons
  • Medication
  • Make up
  • Hairbrush
  • Hair ties and bobby pins
Wardrobe:
  • Underwear
  • Socks
  • Swimwear (2/3 outfits)
  • T-shirts
  • Nice "Going Out" Outfit x 1
  • Business Wear (for traditions) x 2
  • Shorts
  • Dresses
  • Skirts
  • Pyjamas
  • Hoodie x 1 (to travel)
  • Jeans x 1 (to travel)
  • Shoes x 4 (Trainers, sandles, work shoes, travel in one pair, pack the other three)
  • Accessories (not excluding mouse ears!)
  • Backpack
  • Sunglasses
  • Jewelry (keep to a minimum where possible)
Nice to have if there is space for it:
  • Photos of family and friends
  • Cuddly toy
  • Fairy lights (battery operated)
  • Collapsible Storage
  • Laundry Basket

Important Documents:

  • Passport
  • Original DS-2020 Form
  • Disney Employment Letter
  • Flight Information and Tickets
  • Proof of Medical Insurance
  • Printed Receipt of Program Assessment Fee
  • Arrivals form and any other paperwork from DORMS
  • Travel Insurance Documents
  • Anything else advised to bring by Yummy Jobs

I have also done a little bit of research for what I may need to think about buying when I get to Orlando and go to Walmart for the first time after moving into my Disney Accommodation:

  • Food - Food is a priority, but when researching it has been advised to just buy the essentials on the first shopping trip. If I decide I am buying bedding from Walmart, this alone will be a struggle to get onto the bus, so I do not want to overload myself with too much shopping on top of that! I don't think food is as important in the first week anyway, since from research it seems like most people eat out in the first week to get to know the other people on the program.
  • Bedding - If I decide that there is no room for me to bring bedding with me from home, I am going to have to buy some from Walmart when I get there, which is going to take up a lot of space in my shopping bag!
  • Cleaning Products - This is probably something I can chat to my housemates about, but ultimately I will need to buy washing up liquid, rubber gloves, bleach, cleaning sprays and other things to make sure our apartment is kept nice and tidy!
  • Water Purifier - This has been advised as a good purchase as it will save from all those trips to the shop buying heavy boxes of bottled water!
  • Food Containers - These will be essential if I am bringing food from home to work!

Hopefully I am not missing anything from this list, but knowing me there is probably something missing. I am not making any promises, but there may be an amended Packing List post in the future, or even a Bag Packing Video. Who knows what will happen! But anyway, thank you so much for reading my post today, and stick around for the final posts of Disney December!

My First Visit to Walt Disney's Magic Kingdom - Disney December

As a child, all I wanted to do was go to Disney World, and I managed to get there in 2007! I always said my lifelong dream was to work there as a princess in the castle, but just being able to visit a Disney Park was a dream come true to me! Luckily for me, my mum has filmed almost every time we went on holiday, so I do have footage of the first time I go to visit Magic Kingdom!

Like I said above, I have so many home videos of me visiting the Disney Parks for the first time - we even have videos of us visiting Hollywood Studios when it was known as MGM Studios. If you would be interested in watching my reaction to my first time visiting other Disney Parks, let me know and thank you for watching today!

5 things I have never done at Walt Disney World - Disney December

You probably wouldn't be able to believe that I have been to Walt Disney World seven times and there are still things I have never done in the resort. So I have compiled a list of five things I have never done in Walt Disney World - which I can hopefully say I will have done by the end of next year!

1) Buy a Turkey Leg

Ever time I visit Walt Disney World, I always see people eating turkey legs and thing that they lok really lovely! I have always wanted to buy one, but I have never really had my own money to spend over there and we have never bought one as a family, so I have been deprived of the wonders of the Disney Turkey Leg!

They always smell lovely, I particularly remember walking past a cart in Liberty Square selling them! Next time I go I will make sure I get a turkey leg and I will get a picture to prove it!

2) Visit all the Countries in Epcot

Epcot is a controversial park in my family. I absolutely love it and am always disappointed when we go there, explore future world and leave, but my family are not huge fans of Epcot. The World Showcase is something that absolutely fascinates me, and I would love to take my time to explore it and to experience the different attractions each country has to offer. And of course,  would like to eat around the world (now I can also legally drink around the world too! But I am not huge on drinking, so I would probably prefer the food!). I am really excited for the updates to happen to Epcot, and I really hope that I can experience everything it has to offer!

3) Stay in a Walt Disney World Resort

Whenever I have visited Orlando with my family, we like to experience everything it has to offer. Rather than limit ourselves exclusively to the Walt Disney World Resort, we like to stay somewhere more central to the attractions on offer, for example, so we can also access the Universal Orlando Resort. Also with the way our family holidays work, we find that staying in a villa works for us better than staying in a hotel.

Despite this, it still goes that staying in a Disney Resort is a lifelong dream of mine. Trust me, when I get my staff discount I am so booking a nights stay in the Grand Floridian! There are so many other things to experience in the hotels themselves, and I didn't even realise that you can visit the restaurants there even if you do not have a room for the night! This is definitely one thing that I will do this year, as I need to arrive the day before check in day, and I don't fancy sleeping on the airport floor!

4) Used Disney Transportation

Walt Disney World has many forms of transportation to get around the resort - Buses, monorails and now the Skyway! Outside of the Ferryboat and the Monorail to Magic Kingdom, I have never used Disney Transport to get around the resort! I know many people who park at the Disney Hotels and then get the free bus to the parks to avoid paying $20 for parking, but we always just paid for the parking there. I have never even park hopped on the same day! On our holidays, we have always dedicated one day to a whole park!

5) Visit the Disney Water Parks

Technically I have been to Blizzard Beach - we walked in, saw how busy it was and walked straight back out! So unless you count that, I have never been to any of the Disney water parks at Walt Disney World. Being honest, water parks are not my favourite places to go to in Florida, but I would at least like to visit the Disney Parks to give it a try before I make my judgement on them!

So there you have it, 5 things I have never done at Walt Disney World - I intend to try and do all of these things while I am working there in the summer! What have you never done at Walt Disney World? Let me know in the comments, and thank you for reading!

Reacting to my First Nativity

As it is the festive season, I decided I would do something a little bit different! Don't worry, your usual Disney December updates will continue as normal tomorrow (although I did wear my Mickey Mouse Christmas Jumper to keep with the theme!).

Whilst being home from University, I found a lot of old tapes from my childhood, and discovered the full video for my first Nativity, so I thought it would be interesting to watch back!

Thank you for reading and check back for tomorrows Disney December post!

Favourite Overall Disney Moment - Disney December

If you have been reading up, you will know that I have visited Walt Disney World many times and have been luck enough to experience many magical moments. It is hard to pick out just one particular magical moment, but there is one thing that sticks out in my mind which may seem silly to some people.

When I was 8 years old, I was lucky enough to get a Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and got to dress up as one of the Disney Princesses for a day. This was genuinely one of the best days of my life, I got to walk around Magic Kingdom and be called princess all day, and I had some of the best Character interactions that day.

I will never forget how I felt when my Fairy Godmother in Training turned around my chair and I saw my reflection for the first time! I felt so happy but knowing how I was at the time I probably looked really awkward! Even though I had sunburn all over my forehead, I was feeling on top of the world!

I do have something coming up in relation to my Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, so stick around to see that! Thank you for reading!

Favourite Walt Disney Quote - Disney December

Walt Disney was a revolutionary and I owe him so much. Without the Disney company, my life would have been very different - and I imagine that this is the same for many people out there in the world. There are so many quotes out there from this amazing man, but there is one that stands out to me.

Without realising it, I have lived m entire life by this quote. I have worked extremely hard to achieve what has been my life goal, and I have achieved it despite of all the odds against me. So much in my life would have been so different if I had listened to other people.

My mum told me not to go to the college I applied to because it was too far to walk to get the bus on a morning. I did not want to stay at my schools Sixth Form as I had a lot of issues with my school - many of these arose from me being a gay student in a strict catholic school. But I had limited options and went with my gut instinct, and those two years at college were the best two years of my life - even if I had to walk 40 minutes to my bus stop alone.

On the topic of College, my school really did not want to lose me as a student (I can see why) and forced me into a college interview anyway. When I told the teacher that I had no interest in staying at the Sixth Form, I was told that I was way too young to be making big decisions like choosing a new college in my life, and that A-Levels were so stressful that it will be too much to cope with as well as meeting new people. Seems weird, considering at this time I was 16, and 18 year olds in the country are pressured into deciding where they want to go for University, and are even encouraged to leave their hometown. As stated above, I am glad I didn't listen to the advice and had the happiest two years of my life at the college I chose.

Applying for university was a whole situation! My parents wanted me to stay at home and commute to university, afterall, that is what my brother and sister did. But I so badly wanted to see what was outside my home town; to get out and see the world. I never told them I applied for Universities outside my hometown, but had to break the news when I had auditions, and basically told them I was 18 I could decide what I wanted to do (I also used the whole "some kids do drugs, I just want to go to York!" arguement but it didn't seem to work on them!). They told me they couldn't take me to these auditions and I said no problem, I got the trin to each one, and as of now I am into my second year of university at my top choice.

An of course, on top of all these things, there is the fact that I have now been hired by Disney.

If I had not been brave enough to go against what these people wanted for me, I would never have done half the stuff I have done, and half of my life would just be a dream. I would hate to think that I would be stuck in my hometown for the rest of my life, and honestly moving has been one of the best things I have done! This Walt Disney quote is inspiring and true. Don't let anyone else make your decisions for you, if you want something, go after it!

Thank you so much for reading my post today, let me know what you want to see next!

What Disney Character am I? - Disney December

A question I was anticipating for my Disney Cultural Exchange Program Interview (both pre-screen and my final interview) was "Which Disney character are you most like?". I read in countless blogs and heard on videos that it was one of the questions that always came up, but as you can imagine, at both of my interviews I was asked completely different questions. But this question did get me thinking - which Disney Character am I most like? It was an interesting thought.

I love singing and sleeping, so I could be like Princess Aroura. Animals are also something that I absolutely love, so maybe I was Snow White. Perhaps I could be Rabbit due to how much I like being organised and knowing exactly what it going on!

The character I decided I was most like was Venelope from Wreck it Ralph.  She is very outgoing and quirky, which is very much like my personality, and she also cares alot about her friends (particularly at the end of the movie).

Which Disney character are you most like? Let me know in the comments!

Favourite Disney Sequel - Disney December

Disney sequels are a controversial topic, some people absolutely love them, some people despise them. You have your fantastic sequels - like Frozen 2 or Peter Pan: Return to Neverland - and your not so good sequels - like Beauty and the Beast: An Enchanted Christmas.

My personal favourite is Cinderella 3: A Twist in Time. This was the Cinderella Sequel that we a didn't want but we needed. The plot is so clever, I'm surprised that a movie like this hasn't happened before. Now time travel is a bit of a risque plot device to include, and the way it happens in the movie is questionable (but you have to remember this is a Disney Movie), but the way this movie handles things is amazing. It's one of those "What would happen if" movies and it truly works!

This is definitely my favourite Disney Sequel, I may even day I prefer this story over the original movie!

What's your favourite Disney Sequel? Let me know in the Comments below!

Favourite Live Action Movie - Disney December

If you know me, then you will know that I am not a massive fan of the Disney Love Action Movies. They will never be able to improve upon the original movie and the final product feels like a cheap cashgrab. But there are a few good points about them, intact there is one live action movie that I find tolorable.

The Cinderella live action movie is probably my favourite Live Action Remake. It has a fantastic cast, the costumes in this movie is beautiful, plus it doesn't try to be the same as the original movie.

Cinderella is given a little bit more of a personality in this movie. She leaves the house and goes into the village, she fights back more, she even tried to get herself out of her situation in the end of the movie. She did some of these things in the original, but they are expanded upon in the remake. The Princes, too, is given more of a persoanlo, and the relationship between him and Cinderella is much more believable.

Do you have a favourite live action movie? Let me know in the comments below!

Favourite Villain - Disney December

There are so many iconic characters that are in the Disney Villains lineup, that have become so popular among Disney fans that they have become a franchise that is almost as big as the Disney Princess lineup. So as you can imagine, picking a favourite villain is extremely difficult.

There is also the fact of how do you even pick a favourite villain? Isn't the point that they are supposed to be dis-likable evil characters? In some cases yes. Who ever says their favourite villain is Cruella Devil? The woman wanted to turn puppies into a coat, she is well and truly the most evil Disney Villain! I also never realised how brutal that plot point in 101 Dalmatians is until writing that out...

This is such a difficult post to write because all of the villains are brilliant for their own reasons. Some have great songs, some have great humor, some just look fantastic! So this is almost proving to be an impossible task. But there is one villain that stands out to me compared to everyone else. And yes, you may think that they are like every other villain, but to me, she is truly one of my favourite characters in the movie she stars in.

I am, of course, talking about Ursula. If you were to watch the Little Mermaid from her perspective, I promise you, you will most likely view King Tritan as the villain. Kicked out of her Kingdom and disowned by her family, she did what she had to do to survive and build power to one day retake her throne. And when her niece, Ariel, came along asking for a chance to explore the surface world, it was the perfect opportunity to take revenge on her Brother and claim what is rightfully hers. But, we all know that is not how she is portrayed in the story. She is not the oppressed leader who was cast aside in favour of a man; she was manipulative and did whatever would benefit her best, and was selfish for wanting to take this "benevolent" leader off the throne.

Poor Unfortunate Souls is one of my favourite villain songs, and I absolutely love Ursula's solo that was added into the Little Mermaid Broadway musical! She is such an interesting character and that is why she is up there as one of my favourite Disney Villains.

How has Disney Impacted my life - Disney December

Disney is a company that I have admired for almost all my life. I grew up watching the animated movies, and have grown up with the amazing movies like Frozen, Tangled and even The Princess and the Frog! Disney gave me a sense of identity growing up, I knew where I wanted to be and who I wanted to be. I was always dressed up in Princess dresses with a tiara and said that I wanted to be a Princess at Walt Disney World when I grew up. Everyone in my family called me Princess Natalie and my teachers at school would always ask me  if I had any new dresses after a birthday or Christmas.

Things never changed as I got older. When I enrolled in College, there was a job advertisement to work for a children's entertainment company and I applied and was interviewed for the position. I have since spent four happy years working there as various characters - both mascots and face characters - and have prided myself on the fact that the first proper job I had was within an industry I have always wanted to enter.

Leaving college, I was a bit stuck with what I wanted to do. I have always wanted to work at Walt Disney World, and looked into applying to work there for a gap year, but I did not have the funds or the right experience to work there as of yet, plus at this moment in time I had never left home so the thought of looking after myself really scared me. I was told to look at a company called Yummy Jobs though, as they organised the Disney International Programs. Although I did not apply then and there for a job I have followed them for years awaiting the opportunity to apply...which brings me to now.

This ear has been insane - there have been so many negative things that have happened this year, things that have tried to stop me from achieving what I wanted. Yet somehow, I pulled through and managed to get hired into my dream job! 2020 is looking to be a fantastic year, and I am so looking forward to getting started in my position at Walt Disney World. It has hugely impacted my life and has lead me down the career path I have gone down, and I am now going to be working for the big mouse himself!

I guess what you can take away from this is don't shy away from your dreams. So many people have said that working for Disney would never happen and that I was wasting my time and energy applying for this job, but here we are. Those are the same people that are now asking me for my staff discount codes!
